Gretchen has been providing skilled and compassionate support to families in DuPage County since 2014, but her informal training began in 2007 when she fell in love with all things related to childbirth. Her passion for enhancing family relationships prenatally and through the birth process shines in her work, and she has been a tremendous asset to all who engage her services.Having a high regard for the inherent value of every woman and child, Gretchen loves to help her clients navigate the spiritual aspects of pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenting. Her Christian faith is the cornerstone of her work, and she joyfully serves all types of families desiring all kinds of birth experiences.
Gretchen is trained and certified by DONA International, a widely respected doula organization worldwide. She co-founded DuPage Doula Network in 2015, and is also trained and certified in the use of the Rebozo for labor and birth. In 2017, she added the highly valued Postpartum Doula Service to her offerings.
She received a BA in Psychology from Wheaton College, and lived abroad in Tirana, Albania, for 6 years with her family. Gretchen lives in Wheaton, Illinois, with her husband and four children. When she’s not attending births and serving families, she can be found drinking espresso, reading books to her children, exploring nature with her family, or planning a road trip.
