I’m so excited you’re here! I’m Chelsea, a wife, stay-at-home parent of two and a doula. I have been working with children and families for more than two decades. Prior to becoming a mother, I received a master’s degree in education and taught music to children in public school (PreK through grade 12) for 11 years. Before my teaching career and during summer breaks, I nannied for area families.
I became a doula because I learned through my own experience that the postpartum months can be an incredibly isolating and challenging time; I quickly found out that we were not meant to go this road alone. I was the first of my friend group to get pregnant and have a child, and I found that as hard as they tried, they didn’t know how to support me (and sometimes I didn’t know what support I needed). Google became my middle of the night crutch, usually while I was covered in milk and bouncing on a yoga ball with my first born. I’m sure I don’t need to tell many of you about the dark pit that is reading through a parenting forum at 3 a.m. That’s where I come in. I hope to ease the burden of preparation for your growing family and your transition into parenthood. My goal is to help you avoid the confusing and often unnecessarily scary rabbit holes that frantic predawn internet searches can take you down. I welcome the opportunity to be a part of your community and offer you education, support, solidarity, empowerment, strength and empathy as you journey through parenthood
