Born and raised in Chicago, Ill. A mother of six beautiful children ages 26, 24, 20, 18, 16, and 6, one granddaughter that is 3 months old, happily married to my husband for 13 years. Having a less-than-ideal childhood, I have overcome and risen to the challenges. My experiences have given me the motivation and strength to want to help women of color, and all WALKS of life being able to give the direction and guidance to be better mothers to their children. I am now a certified postpartum and Doula and have been working with the amazing Green Bay Doulas for the past four years. I am on track to graduate with a degree in Midwifery, I’m also affiliated with Alba birthing center as a postpartum care attendant. My goal and mission are to have the skills and advocate for policies that keep women’s health safe. I want to work to help elevate the voices of those on the front line of birthing disparities. Working with those that are otherwise underserved within rural spaces. When looking at the birthing disparities that currently exist in this country being able to care for women and their families in a manner that is a more holistic, culturally relevant, inclusive, and empowering way.
