Hello, I’m Aislinn. [Pronounced: Ash – Lynn, it’s Irish and does not sound like it’s spelled..]
As you may have guessed by the name, I am Irish and living in Canada with my husband since 2018. We are now settled just outside Winnipeg, MB with our young daughter.
I graduated with a BSc. (Honours Degree) in Midwifery in 2014 and worked as a hospital and birth centre based midwife for almost 4 years in both Ireland and London, England. I absolutely LOVED (big emphasis on that!) being a midwife, supporting folks through all walks of pre-conception, pregnancy, birth and postpartum. When I decided to move to Canada to start my own family, I trained as a Postpartum Doula to be able to continue supporting new parents and families.
In March 2018, I developed and grew a breast pump rental program and in-home pumping support with a national company in Ontario, Canada. The transition from public hospital midwife to private, in-home support was new and had so many unique learning curves but I thoroughly enjoyed the one on one time with clients and providing continuous support throughout their feeding journeys.
In September 2020, my husband and I welcomed our first child into the world. Being a mother has provided a whole new skill set I didn’t even know I was missing. Now, more than ever, I want to provide the care and support I wish I had to others welcoming their little ones into the world and learning to feed their babies. As of August, 2021 I am working toward my CAPPA Lactation Educator certification and can’t wait to provide support to those locally and virtually.
