The CAPPA 18 Hour Childbirth Educator Training

Ready to become more proficient when offering childbirth education? Take the first step towards becoming a Certified Childbirth Educator with CAPPA.  This eighteen-hour training meets the first requirement of your CCCE program and prepares you to work through the steps for certification. This course is designed to improve the skill base, knowledge and perspectives on childbirth for perinatal professionals.

Why Certify as a CCCE?

Certified Childbirth Educators (CCCEs) provide evidence based information to the community, families and professionals. Childbirth Educators can be found working in a variety of settings to offer their services to families. Families can find them working as public health educators, hospital/community educators, in care providers’ offices and in private practice as educators.

 

CAPPA Childbirth Educators are non-clinical professionals. CAPPA Childbirth Educators do not dispense medical advice, diagnose medical conditions, or prescribe/administer medications or treatments of any kind. Educators do not offer information that directs families to act against medical advice.

 

Faculty: Esther March-Singleton has over 29 years of experience in the childbirth and breastfeeding field. Her passion for the profession began first-hand by the onset of motherhood. Fueled by the priceless self-accomplishment of achieving successful breastfeeding for all three of her children; Esther has stopped at nothing to express her desire and purpose of educating, facilitating, and assisting mothers & organizations all over the Florida to learning more about the benefits of breastfeeding /breast milk.
Esther has her degrees in nursing specializing in Maternal and Child Health, Business and Health Care Administration / Management. Esther is a registered nurse, IBCLC, and Certified Lactation Educator™ and Childbirth Educator. Esther serves as the President of Florida Breastfeeding Coalition, Florida Department of Health Broward County WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator, President of Broward County Breastfeeding Coalition, and faculty for the CAPPA CLE© program.

Student Teaching Assignments
We will be doing some student teaching during our training, and you will need to do some preparation on the evening before your student teaching assignments. You will be assigned a topic at the end of our first day. Please do not panic! You are becoming a lactation educator. Our training is a safe place, only positive comments are allowed, and you will do well and enjoy it. This is an opportunity to get your feet wet with curriculum development, presentation timing, and speaking in front of others before you should do it for your real audience!

Details of Refund Policy:
NO refunds. Another training can be taken within 12 months. $50 transfer fee.
NOTE: Each student must be in attendance during the entirety of the training provided to receive a certificate of attendance for this Training Class.
