Jennifer Kendrick

Dr. Jennifer R. Kendrick is a dedicated healthcare educator with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. She currently serves as a Perinatal Practice Specialist at East Carolina University Health in Greenville, North Carolina. Jennifer is committed to providing evidence-based best practices and believes that education is the cornerstone of excellent care.

Jennifer's key strengths include being an education advocate, promoting a collaborative vision, and focusing on mentorship and growth. She is passionate about interdisciplinary knowledge sharing and is committed to achieving multidisciplinary healthcare goals to reduce mortality and morbidity rates.

In her current role, Jennifer provides evidence-based perinatal education to clinicians, caregivers, and providers in Perinatal Region VI, North Carolina. She assists in policy development, teaches Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics, and collaborates with various departments to maintain obstetrical service standards.

Jennifer also serves as a Clinical Faculty member at East Carolina University College of Nursing, where she accompanies students during their clinical learning experiences within Women's services in Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, and Special Care Nursery.

Jennifer's educational background includes a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, a Master of Science in Nursing with a Nurse Educator Program from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Western Ontario.

Her certifications and credentialing include Fetal Monitoring Credentialing from the Perinatal Quality Foundation, Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring from the National Certification Corporation, and various other certifications related to her field.

Jennifer has also contributed to several publications and professional associations, including serving as a book reviewer for fetal monitoring guides and being involved in various advisory boards and educational committees.

Jennifer's dedication to her profession has been recognized through numerous honors and awards, including being named one of North Carolina's Great 100 Nurses in 2023 and receiving the NC AWHONN Nurse Leader Award in 2022.
