Rosa Neves
New Parent Educator Faculty
Location: Oregon
I am a born and raised Oregonian, who is now raising her two children in a bilingual, multi-generational home. I am deeply committed to creating inclusive spaces where all parents, regardless of background or circumstance, feel welcome and supported. My approach recognizes and respects the diverse perspectives and experiences that contribute to the rich tapestry of parenthood.
I am a resilient, perinatal professional that is enthusiastic about supporting new parents during their transformative journey into parenthood, especially working professionals. With a background in Human Resources before transitioning to the Perinatal profession, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role of New Parent Educator Faculty.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Human Resource Management from Portland State University, then certified through the Center for Parental Leave Leadership as a RETAIN Parental Leave Coach.
I was one of the first certified through CAPPA as a New Parent Educator in Oregon and also became a CAPPA Certified Childbirth Educator in 2023. I have trained as a CAPPA Postpartum Doula and am planning for certification as a CAPPA Lactation Educator by the end of 2024. My academic background, over 20 years of work experience, and personal experience equips me with a comprehensive understanding of employee rights in the workplace, newborn care, new parent family dynamics, parental leave transition preparation, and effective teaching methodologies tailored to adult learners.
I love to create an educational experience that equips parents with practical skills but also fosters a sense of community and support during this pivotal life stage.
