Labor Doula Faculty
Jessilyn Dolan has been working with birthing families for almost twenty years. She is a registered nurse, herbalist and massage therapist. Jessilyn is a certified labor doula, childbirth educator, CPR and infant massage instructor. Jessilyn is proud to be CAPPA labor doula faculty. She started Vermont’s first ICAN. Jessilyn is honored to have been an apprentice with Paulina (Polly) Perez for over ten years, and continues to work, teach alongside with, and learn from her 50 years of experience and expertise.
Jessilyn previously owned and operated a Family Wellness Center and Yoga Studio. She was an adjunct professor for Reflexology, Anatomy and Physiology and Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Community College of Vermont Massage Therapy Program. Jessilyn previously managed a domestic and sexual abuse shelter. Jessilyn has worked as a labor and delivery nurse and substance use detox and MAT nurse. She was nurse manager at a residential facility for pregnant women and children recovering from substance use disorder (SUD).
Jessilyn is now working with University of Vermont (UVM) research team for opioid MAT and is taking call as a forensic sexual assault nurse examiner at UVM Medical Center. She is currently developing a prenatal, labor and postpartum doula training program for recovery coaches to support families with SUD. Jessilyn is a hemp farmer and educator. She is a caring, honest and open being who wants to help make a positive difference in the lives of those around her. Jessilyn lives in the northern woods of Vermont with her family.
