Lactation Educator Faculty
I have been a Registered Nurse for over 35 years, specializing in Maternal-Child Health. I have worked in all areas supporting mothers and babies including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, Lactation Consultant, Childbirth Educator, Elementary School nurse, as well as a Nursing Professor teaching new nurses about my passion for working with mothers and their newborns. I am a Certified Lactation Educator working full-time as lactation support in my local hospital with plans to renew my IBCLC in April. I will be graduating in August with my Doctorate in Nursing Practice, having completed my graduate project in the benefits of skin-to-skin contact and increasing the rates of exclusive breastfeeding. I have been married for 28 years, have 3 wonderful children (25, 22 and 8!) and have breastfed all of my babies! I love to travel and spend time with my family camping and at the beach. I am very excited to start teaching new Lactation Educators and sharing my passion for supporting new mothers and their babies in becoming successful at breastfeeding!
