CAPPA Certified Postpartum Doula: CPD

The CAPPA Postpartum Doula Training
Ready to become proficient when offering professional postpartum support? Take the first step towards becoming a Certified Postpartum Doula with CAPPA. This eighteen hour workshop meets the first requirement of your CPD program and prepares you to work through the steps for certification. This course is designed to provide a foundational skill base, knowledge, and perspectives on professional postpartum support for perinatal professionals, as well as providing training for those seeking certification as certified postpartum doulas with CAPPA.
Offering 18 CAPPA Contact Hours. Nursing contact hours potentially available on request.
The CAPPA Postpartum Doula Training Class includes the CAPPA Postpartum Doula Manual, and covers the following topics:

Laura Nance is the Senior Advisor of Postpartum Programs for CAPPA and the co-developer of the New Parent Educator program. Laura has been involved in the perinatal world since 2000 and is CAPPA certified and active in her community as a New Parent Educator, Childbirth Educator, Lactation Educator, Pregnancy Fitness Educator, Postpartum Doula, and Labor Doula. She is the owner of For Love of Baby, a doula and educator collective offering professional perinatal services to families. She has been a trainer with CAPPA since 2005 and trains for the postpartum doula, new parent educator and lactation educator programs. She lives in the foothills of NC with her husband of almost 30 years, her 2 twenty-something age children, one dog, and 3 cats (some say the cats are her favorite family members.) She enjoys travel, trail running, concerts, and reading. She is very passionate about educating new professionals and inspiring them to be confident in educating and supporting new families.

A $50.00 late fee will be added to all registrations 4 weeks before the training.
A $100.00 deposit will hold your spot. The Balance is due 2 weeks before the training.

Details of Refund Policy:
There are no refunds except upon cancellation of the class by the instructor, Laura Nance. Registration may be transferred to another training with Laura Nance within 12 months of the original training date with approval from Laura Nance and by paying a $75.00 transfer fee. Failure to transfer to another training within the 12-month period results in forfeiture of all monies paid to the instructor, Laura Nance. Tuition cannot be transferred to another person.
Non-refundable travel plans should not be made until the course has been confirmed by the instructor 14 days from the training date. If the training is cancelled prior to 14 days before the training date, Laura Nance is not responsible for any expenses incurred if non-refundable travel plans are made. In the event of inclement weather or other issues that make it impossible for Laura Nance to hold the training, a make-up date will be scheduled. Laura Nance is not responsible for any travel expenses incurred.
