The CAPPA Postpartum Doula Training
Ready to become proficient when offering professional postpartum support? Take the first step towards becoming a Certified Postpartum Doula with CAPPA. This eighteen hour workshop meets the first requirement of your CPD program and prepares you to work through the steps for certification. This course is designed to provide a foundational skill base, knowledge, and perspectives on professional postpartum support for perinatal professionals, as well as providing training for those seeking certification as certified postpartum doulas with CAPPA.
Offering 18 CAPPA Contact Hours. Nursing contact hours potentially available on request.
The CAPPA Postpartum Doula Training Class includes the CAPPA Postpartum Doula Manual, and covers the following topics:

Faculty: Gwynne Knap has been a dedicated and passionate birth professional in the Atlanta area for the past 10+ years. She has taught Confident Childbirth of Atlanta and Kopa Birth classes to hundreds of couples since 2009. As a labor doula and postpartum doula, Gwynne has supported hundreds of families through the birth journey and the transition into new parenthood. Her doula practice today, focuses primarily on postpartum doula care. Gwynne graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Spanish/International Business, from then, she had a 22 year career, marketing commercial architectural materials imported from around the world. Gwynne is a mother to a son and a daughter, as well as, a proud grandmother of two. She finds training new birthing professionals deeply rewarding.
$565 includes CAPPA Postpartum Doula Training Manual and 1 year of CAPPA Membership
Alumni Discount of $50 for anyone who has previously taken another CAPPA Training with me.
$265 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit holds your training slot; Remainder of fee ($300) due two weeks before training begins.
Registrations submitted within two weeks of training may require express shipping fees.
Note: Each student must be in attendance during the entirety of the training provided in order to receive a certificate of attendance for this CAPPA Postpartum Doula Training.
Details of Refund Policy:
-If I, Gwynne Knap cancels the training, students have the option of receiving a full refund or transferring to another CAPPA Training taught by Gwynne Knap within a 12 month period from original training date.
-Training fees are non-refundable, but are transferable to a future CAPPA Training taught by Gwynne Knap within 12 months from original training date. If student does not attend a training within 12 months, all fees are forfeited.
-Participants should not make non-refundable travel arrangements unless they have received a confirmation email from firstname.lastname@example.org that the training is confirmed.
– In the event of hazardous weather, making it impossible for CAPPA faculty to hold the training, a makeup option will be made available.
