CAPPA Labor Doula (CLD)

The CAPPA Labor Doula Training
Ready to become proficient when offering professional labor support? Take the first step towards becoming a Certified Labor Doula with CAPPA. This eighteen-hour workshop meets the first requirement of your CLD program and prepares you to work through the steps for certification. This course is designed to provide a foundational skill base, knowledge, and perspectives on professional labor support for perinatal professionals, as well as providing training for those seeking certification as certified labor doulas with CAPPA.
Offering 18 CAPPA Contact Hours. Nursing contact hours potentially available on request.
The CAPPA Labor Doula Training Class includes the CAPPA Labor Doula Manual, and covers the following topics:
CAPPA certification and policies
Practical application of Scope of Practice, ethics, and integrity
Building bridges with medical/midwifery professionals
Modeling and teaching positive communication and self-advocacy
Support for every stage of labor and birth
Hands on practice of proven comfort measures and labor support techniques
Emotional support for labor and birth, as well as unexpected events
Hospital procedures – risk/benefit as well as alternatives and support

Interested in becoming a doula? Already a doula and would like to get reenergized by attending a workshop? Or need CEU’s for recertification?
Bio: Jodi Green has enjoyed offering birth and postpartum doula service to hundreds of families in Philadelphia, South and Central New Jersey, and Delaware as “Jodi the Doula” since 1999. As a certified doula through CAPPA, Jodi makes it her personal goal to offer the information, education, and support parents need to make their own informed choices in birth and parenting. Jodi has an educational background in child development, and has trained as a Traditional Naturopath through Herbal Healer Academy with experience and certification in many natural healthcare modalities including nutrition, reflexology, reiki, aromatherapy, and acupressure, all of which are useful tools in pregnancy, labor and delivery. Jodi is a trained Breastfeeding Peer Counselor through the Women, Infants, and Children Program (WIC) and taught classes as an Empowered Birth facilitator from 2004-2010. Jodi teaches Birth Plan Basics at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees, NJ and continues to take advantage of further training and education through many organizations to continue offer the most up-to-date information available for birth options. Details of Refund Policy: A non-refundable deposit of $50 is requested to reserve your space for training, with the remaining balance due one week prior to the workshop.
In the event of cancellation of workshop by facilitator, all fees will be refunded.
If you are unable to attend a workshop after having registered, notice must be given a minimum of two weeks prior to beginning of training for refund of fees (minus deposit).
Failure to appear for training will result in no refunds issued.
NOTE: Each student must be in attendance during the entirety of the training provided in order to receive a certificate of attendance for this Training Class.
