Yvette is a well loved CAPPA trained birth and postpartum doula who holds a wide range of skills, including a wealth of knowledge surrounding newborns, maternal health, and family support. She has been caring for families in birth and postpartum spaces as a communication specialist, an educator, a nanny, a newborn caregiver, childcare provider, and mental health advocate for over 30 years.
Yvette understands the significant transition that birth and the 4th trimester are for families, and she loves that she can have such an intimate and positive impact in the midst of these sacred moments. Families think of her as a baby whisperer, with a magical touch and an amazing ability to soothe even the fussiest of babies, getting them to sleep soundly and peacefully.
Prior to supporting families as a doula, Yvette worked as a professor in higher education, a public school teacher, and Jazzercise fitness instructor, where she taught group cardio and strength classes throughout her entire third pregnancy. She is a highly valued birth professional who has proven to be an essential support to her clients, friends, and to the surrounding community.
Yvette is the owner of The Babyz House, through which she offers education classes, birth photography, maternity and labor support, and newborn care to her clients. She is a CAPPA Certified Childbirth Educator and a Certified Sleep Coach with the Center For Pediatric Sleep Management.
In her free time, Yvette enjoys spending time with her husband Ramon and their 3 kids: Kaydon James (16), Syenna Cheree (14), and Mercyanna Grace (11).
