Hello! I’m Sarah, Owner and Doula at Woven Circle Doula Services, LLC, and member of The Iowa Baby Ladies. I live in Ankeny, IA, with my husband and our two cats, Mary Lynn and Luna. I’m an avid knitter/crocheter, ceramicist, and Netflix binger, who is an Enneagram 2, and known by her friends as “Sarah Mama”.
Watching The Business of Being Born at the age of 16 lit a fire within me. Not sure what to do with that fire, I received my bachelors degree in Fine Art, went to Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School, and have worked in the food industry for the past 10 years, with the last three as a personal chef.
Then, one day while chatting with a client, she shared her doula journey with me. That fire was immediately stoked once more, and I signed up for labor and postpartum doula training within the week. Holding space for a laboring or postpartum mom, and allowing her to guide me through her journey is a treasure. Through my doula support, I bring reassurance, empathy, and a pillar for you to lean on as you tap into your most powerful self.
