I live on the South Shore of MA with my husband Chris, my three boys, a golden retriever, a black lab, a Newfoundland/lab mix and many chickens. When I’m not shuttling my kids to activities and sports, I’m working on one of my endless DIY home projects or out in my garden.
Once my youngest son started school full time, I was ready to get back to work. However, I knew my career before kids (medical sales), certainly wouldn’t be my career after kids. My life changed so much in over a decade of being a mom and raising my boys. My lifelong love of babies and the satisfaction and experience of being a mom was my calling to become a postpartum doula and, later, a pediatric sleep consultant.
My own experience with a traumatic birth and, two traumatic recoveries, enlightened me to how important postpartum care is for the entire family. I find it a great honor, joy and privilege to be invited in to homes to help support the family and the newborn(s) in the days and months following birth.
When my boys were babies, I also learned how important sleep is to everyone! I read everything I possibly could about sleep and, in turn, my boys were amazing sleepers. (They still are!) During my postpartum work, I saw the need to give parents the tools to help their baby’s soothe themselves to sleep and help them stay asleep (and sometimes help the siblings as well). I found such satisfaction in getting babies to sleep, I decided to pursue my certification to become a pediatric sleep consultant. It’s awesome to see how the dynamics of the family improve when everyone is well rested.
My compassion extends to furry family members as well, as I’m a true animal lover in addition to my love of babies and parents!
