Hi! My name is Jenna, and I am a postpartum doula from Oak Park, CA. I am a single mother of two boys, ages 7 and 9.
I have loved everything about birth, pregnancy, and postpartum for as long as I can remember. My love for it only grew after the birth of my first son 9 years ago. Our postpartum experience was relatively smooth, although I had the typical new mom panic. Two and a half years later, baby #2 came along and my postpartum experience wasn’t as easy. I was recovering from an unplanned caesarean birth, while also battling multiple post-natal mood disorders, almost completely alone. It was that experience that finalized my decision to work with families of new babies. No parent should have to do it alone, and even those with support can always use more! I wish I would have had an expert to tell me what I was experiencing wasn’t normal. I wish they could have helped with my recovery, my eating patterns, and given me resources. Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, the support from a postpartum doula is invaluable. As the first one of my friends to have kids, I have been able to help many of them navigate the postpartum period.
Today I am continuing my education as a postpartum doula, while also preparing to become a sleep consultant & grief doula.
