In 2017 I began training as a labor doula and, shortly after, found out I was pregnant. Hiring my doula was the best thing I could have done for myself and I am still reaping the benefits years later. My doula helped me to prepare for the birth that I wanted and cope effectively when it was not going my way. I walked away with a set of skills and a sense of confidence as a new mother which is priceless. I want to pass those tools onto other parents— whatever form their birth takes.
When I am not talking about birth, you can find me hanging out with my daughters, in the ceramics studio, or finding a rare moment alone with my husband. I have worked 12+ years in marketing and attribute my communication skills, organization, and ability to connect with people of different view points to that professional experience.
What do I do? I help families to manage their expectations surrounding birth and advocate for themselves so that they can walk into parenthood with a sense of confidence and fulfillment. I offer judgement free, evidence based, emotional / physical / informational / spiritual support at all kinds of birth settings— in hospitals, birth centers, or at home. Birth is a lot more than creating a human one day. The process of making decisions throughout your birth will teach you how to advocate for yourself and your family and trust your intuition when you come to a crossroads. I will help you to re-frame your fears or anxiety surrounding birth and cope effectively in the face of discomfort.
