I have worked with children and families for over 20 years and, since having my own kids, have found a passion and commitment to working with parents newly in the postpartum space. The postpartum period is an intensely unique time for parents and caregivers, both physically and emotionally. My goal, through my work as a postpartum doula, is to help parents and caregivers feel a sense of community and support during this intense time. I believe that postpartum care and community should be available to every new parent and feel particularly passionate about creating a more equitable landscape within the postpartum doula world.
I hold a clinical Master’s of Social Work (LCSW), with a focus on children, youth and families, and feel that my educational and professional training and experience, combined with my personal journey birthing and mothering 2 babies give me the expertise to provide excellent care and support to parents/caregivers and their children. My personal experience has informed my practice in providing special focus to families who have gone through infertility; LGBTQIA families; families with pregnancy challenges; families who’ve been in the NICU; and families who are welcoming a sibling. I am in the process of obtaining my postpartum doula certification through CAPPA.
