BIOGRAPHY

Katrina Fuller is the owner and manager of Natural Nesters, providing pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and breastfeeding education, support, and integral therapy services in Hobbs, New Mexico and surrounding areas since 2008. She is a Certified Prenatal Bonding Facilitator, Pregnancy Fitness Educator, Childbirth Educator, Teen Educator, Lactation Educator™, Antepartum Doula, Labor Doula, Postpartum Doula, HUG Teacher, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Lactation Care Provider, Reiki III Practitioner, Placenta Specialist, Body Artist, and Amateur Photographer. She also serves as Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association Childbirth and Lactation Educator Faculty Member, Injoy Health Education Advisory Board Member, New Mexico Junior College Instructor, former New Mexico Lead WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, and former New Mexico Breastfeeding Task Force Chair.

Katrina received an A.A. and A.S. in General Education at New Mexico Junior College, a B.S. in Elementary Education and M.S. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction at University of the Southwest, and an Ed.D in Teacher Leadership at Walden University. After attending a BPC training with WIC, she was inspired to obtain certifications as a CPBF with B.O.N.D. University, CPFE, CCCE, CCTE, CLE®, CAPD, CLD, and CPD with CAPPA, IBCLC with IBLCE, LCP with NMBON, DSIII with MECA Therapies, CHT with HUG Your Baby, and CHW with NMDOH. She strives to utilize her background in education to provide classes, assistance, and counseling for families, facilitate trainings and courses for professionals, and contribute to the body of current, evidence-based research. She is recognized as the recipient of the WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Award, USW Young Alumnus Award, CAPPA Outstanding Achievement, Faculty of the Year, Most Enthusiastic Seeker of Certifications, and Sowing Seeds Awards, and LCWN Career Achievement Award for her contribution to families in the community and volunteer service in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Katrina is happily married with three children. She had normal pregnancies, ranging from 40-43 weeks, accompanied by all the associated ups and downs. After 6-32 hours of unmedicated labor, she gave birth to healthy babies in water either at home or at a birthing center with a midwife and her labor support team. However, she felt alone during the postpartum periods and experienced severe depression, which she eventually conquered with professional treatment. Despite the lack of support, she exclusively breastfed through various challenges until self-weaning occurred between 2-6 years of age. Having experience as a single teenage mother, married stay-at-home wife, and work-at-home tandem nurser, she is living proof that most parents can achieve a positive pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and breastfeeding experience in almost any circumstance.
