Hi! My name is Adina Walters.

A little bit about me: When I gave birth in 2019 to my daughter, I didn’t realize how much I could have used the help in my physical recovery and breastfeeding journey. Both of these things were very tough for me. I didn’t have my family close and those in my family hadn’t breastfed and I didn’t feel comfortable asking others directly. Fast forward to 2020 and I was pregnant with twins! Wow! The topic of postpartum doula came up in several conversations and I knew I had to look into one because I was determined to breastfeed the twins, so we hired a doula. Through her resources, we had access to a lactation counsellor and received the support I didn’t know was available with my first. I felt much more confident breastfeeding while also more at peace given how much I went through with the twins.

Within the first few months of life my twins ended up in NICU, with jaundice, milk allergies, torticollis, flat head, GERD, tongue ties and eczema. This was a whole lot to process but the doulas were there. They helped me make informed decisions. They had a listening ear.

As I overcame these challenges, it made me passionate to help other moms that don’t know the resources and support that are out there. I also have seven years of addiction and mental health experience with women, along with a bachelors degree with a major in counselling. I love connection. I enjoy supporting others. We are all in this together.
